The Indian Games aren't the greatest layers, more a meat bird. Thanks for adding the breeds to your chicken post.
Hope you didn't have too much damage from the storm.
BridgetCabbage Tree Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13035566919486082520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805326905560957917.post-24338196042997097732009-03-06T09:34:00.000+13:002009-03-06T09:34:00.000+13:00Bridget I've just added your breed of chickens ont...Bridget I've just added your breed of chickens onto the chicken post. Thank you! Just have to do the Farm Blog one now once I've cleared up all the wind damage on the farm.

Take care
LizLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05100812038496671783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805326905560957917.post-24714208277627437892009-03-05T20:30:00.000+13:002009-03-05T20:30:00.000+13:00Hi Bridget,Yes the winds are well up. Chickens in ...Hi Bridget,

Yes the winds are well up. Chickens in Autumn just before the moult often do go off the lay. Also check their weight and appetite. If any aren't eating it is most likely worms. You could try garlic powder as an alternative to using Aviderm it's very good and does work. Roosters sometimes stop hens laying as well. Thanks for your input on the chicken post too. I'll update it tomorrow with your suggestions as well. Jennifer will really appreciate it. Like you I would rather get my eggs off the farm here. I don't like Battery farms because I used to work on one collecting the eggs. Such a depressing place to be in a battery hen shed because of the low light conditions. Caught with reading your wonderful recipies too yum!

Take care and stay very dry
Liz

PS I am co-editing Farm Blogs from around the world with Ian Walthew. Ian is going into hospital soon in Paris so I am helping him out. I have put up a post about your recommendations. I'll let you know when it's doneLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05100812038496671783noreply@blogger.com
