The other night at about 11pm I lost control of my car while driving home from work. After sliding on some loose gravel and going through a fence, then down a hill, I ended up on the roof in the middle of a neighbouring paddock...!:
The next morning after some help to right it |
Yikes! |
Bye bye little car, off to the wreckers! |
After the initial shock, Hubby drove back to the scene in our other car to assess the situation and retrieve some of the contents that I'd left behind, which included groceries and the bin of scraps for the chooks!
Unbelievably I came off relatively unscathed, just a few cuts, knocks and bruises and my back is sore but otherwise hey it's great to be alive! and I'm SO glad I didn't have my wee boy in the back seat...
Best wishes everyone
Oh goodness! Glad to hear you survived with only minor injuries.
ReplyDeleteOMG! You poor thing. Bugger the car...are you alright? I bet it scared the living daylights out of you. Thank God you haven't been hurt badly and yes... that you didn't have anyone with you.. Someone was watching over you I think. Take it easy and like I always say...count your blessings while your at it. Maa
ReplyDeleteHow awaful for you. I am so pleased you weren't hurt too badly, although very shaken I suspect.
ReplyDeleteTake care Sandra
Oh WOW! It could have been so much worse. Fancy being able to walk away. You are being very brave. That was a huge ordeal. Well done on the positive attitude.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so very glad that you are OK. What a frightening thing to have happen!
ReplyDeleteBetter the car than you. So glad you came out all right (and that you didn't have your little one with you). Another thing to praise the Lord for.
ReplyDeleteOh so scary!! Glad to hear you are ok. I've always hated driving home after shift work. Bugger about the chook food - I hope too much didn't get on you, but then you probably had bigger things to worry about!
ReplyDeleteOh Bridget! Thank goodness you're ok. You might get a bit stiffer over the next couple of days. Take it easy.Hw scary.

Hi and thanks everyone for your concern and kind comments.
ReplyDeleteI am aching a bit but otherwise pretty good considering!
Bit of a wake up call as to the dangers of gravel/unsealed roads!
We are just waiting on the outcome from the insurers but would imagine (hope anyway) that the car will be written off then we can look at getting another vehicle (probably something more suited to country roads too).
My goodness! You are so lucky! Thank goodness you were uninjured. Events like this always make us thankful for the little things. I hope the situation with your car isn't a burden!
ReplyDeleteHi there Bridget, I have popped over from Rhonda's!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That sure is something serious to have on your mind!!,, hopefully for not too long! I hope you recover well.
OH WOW! So glad that you are "OK" ;that had to be scary!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I am so glad you are ok. B
ReplyDeleteYowsers, lucky you're ok!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's so scary. I really don't like cars but it's difficult to live without them.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, thank goodness you're alive and okay. I guess it will take a couple of days to get over that. Looks like the car took the rolling pretty well. Some cars just crumble.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are OK.
ReplyDeleteMy word, no wonder you are still thinking about that accident. I am glad you are alright.
ReplyDeleteYIKES is right!! the rest of the year will be a breeze after that!
