Bring home the bacon

Literally!

Last night hubby collected the pork from the butcher (from our 2 pigs). We only just fitted everything into our 2 freezers (with existing fish/beef/lamb/pork). Now we have loads of delicious smoked bacon again! We also got some roasts, chops and a few hams.
YUM!

  2. Well it will take some time that's for sure!!!
    Should be about a year I guess. We didn't get so much bacon last time round and ran out 2 or 3 months ago.
    But it works out so much cheaper than buying pork etc from the supermarket, and of course, we know exactly what the piggies consumed and that they had a nice life.

  3. AND they weren't filled with water! Isn't homekill meat fantastic? It doesn't shrink to nothing when cooked like commercial meat does, & it tastes fantastic.
