Salt lick for the cows

Check out our cows enjoying their Himalayan salt lick we got for them today!

Himalayan salt contains no less than 84 minerals, so apart from giving the cows something to do, it's also very good for them.

Thank you to my niece L (who is a qualified animal behaviour expert) for suggesting we get them a salt lick.  We now have some curious, and presumably, happy cows!

  1. My brother used to breed thoroughbreds for racing and I remember salt licks placed around the place for them too. Maybe I should get Petal one...he loves his salt too! Maa

  5. Hi Maa, that's interesting about the horses. Actually we also eat the salt - from a salt grinder though not the same one as the cows have!!

Hi Andrea, thanks for your invite I will try to remember on Wednesday!

Hi Greenthumb, thanks for looking at my blog. We've had some nice sunny days, also very windy right now.

  6. Hi Shaheen
Yes it does look like rose quartz. Apparently it is pink because it is high in iron, and all the other minerals/elements. Pretty eh?
