Hi everyone
Yesterday (the 22nd) was our Summer Solstice here in the Southern Hemisphere. Also known as the longest day. We enjoyed this beautiful sunset:
Hope you all have a great Xmas, with plenty of good food and company!
I am finally posting this photo of our very modest Xmas tree, linking to veggiegobbler's Festive Fallen Branch Friday over here! Not strictly a 'fallen' branch, it's a bit of native Totara that needed pruning from beside a walkway. D thinks it looks good anyway and that's all that counts! Mind you, that could have something to do with all the presents underneath...........!
What a beautiful sunset, your Xmas tree looks great are those little mince pies i see hanging there?
ReplyDeleteMerry Xmas.
Hi Andrea
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. No not mince pies, they are in fact dried citrus slices!! :-) Did try hanging shortbread stars but they went soft overnight so no good! If the tree was a little larger I might have made some gingerbread to hang or maybe some chocolates. Next year..
Hi Bridget, Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with the family. The gingerbread goes soft too so I'll save you the work. See you after the new year. Hugs Maa.
ReplyDeleteHi Maa
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wishes.
I guess I might have to forgo the edible decorations then! Shame as they look so nice!
I completely forgot about summer solstice with all my chrissie excitement. What a great idea citrus slices are.
ReplyDeleteLove the tree, merry christmas to you and your family,

Merry merry Christmas to you x
ReplyDeleteSee you in the New Year.
Lovely sunset photo! I always forget about the Solstice until I see it on someone's blog. Then I think to myself that I really must do something to mark the next one. (Not that I want to be counting down the days till winter though...)
ReplyDeleteMerry (late) Christmas, and all the best for the New Year!
