It is pouring with rain here, but the worst of the hail storms have passed over thankfully. We're now getting cold southerly winds and it's not a day for being outdoors!
On a different topic, this morning while searching the net I found this old photograph of a huge cabbage tree:
A large 'cabbage tree' (ti kauka - Cordyline australis) in flower,
with two men under it. Harding, William James, 1826-1899 :Negatives of

Have a great day!
I've got one just like that down in the bush on my farm. Yes has it been wet or what!
ReplyDeleteHope you are holding up.
Hi LIz
ReplyDeleteOh wow that would be awesome to see!
Yes I'm over the rain and hail now! But at least the sun is out today!
Have had a run of things healthwise but coming out into the light now!
Hope you are keeping well.
Bridget
We've had more hail than usual this year, but seem to be past it now. Do you get hail regularly as part of oh, I am a northerner--forgive me--your winter or wet season or whatever you might call it?
ReplyDeleteThat is SOME tree. And big!
Hope all is well!
Hi BLD in MT
ReplyDeleteNo we don't usually get much at all. In this part of NZ, we get very mild winters. Usually just a lot of wind and rain, with the occasional frost (never snow although it has been known in higher altitudes nearby).
Just coming out of a big storm which knocked our power our for a day!
oops, power 'out' I mean!
