Fish!

G went out on our boat fishing today with a friend and came home with a good catch. Here are all our snapper fillets (about 3kgs). We ate some for dinner, gave some away and froze the rest. Delicious!

well done! I now know how exciting it is to actually catch fish!
You reminded me that we still have some in the freezer from our haul. Will have them for tea tonight x

Haven't quite got that far yet! But I will give it a go sometime.
How long will fish keep in the freezer do you know?

YUM! Fish doesn't last in our freezer very long at all - we eat it too quick! Vac packing it is the best way to go, or at least two layers of bagging. It doesn't last nearly as long as red meat before it gets an 'old' taste. And I reckon strong fish, like kahawai, are always better in a pie or chowder after they've been frozen.

Thanks for the tips Ms Lottie. We'll be having a fish pie with kahawai tonight :-)
