Changes afoot

There are changes afoot here though...as I'm 3 months pregnant with No 2...so it's likely things are going to slow down considerably in the not too distant future! Anyhow, I will try hard to put up some regular posts.

We've had some nice fine weather lately, chilly overnight and foggy mornings.

There are fewer bugs about and I've actually picked a few tomatoes lately, although they're not big they're OK. We're getting some permanent fencing done around the veg garden soon so I'll post the new look as and when. Should make it a bit better in terms of wind protection.

We got our drive widened by our pond (G built a nice retaining wall) so that's a lot better. Just needs a top coat of brown gravel now (on top of the lime). Last year the pond overflowed in a torrential downpour and washed away a lot of the drive down the stream (to the left).

Hi Bridget Congratulations! That's wonderful news. I know how much I've enjoyed my girls (they were barely just over a year apart!)G did a great job on the retaining wall that should hold really well. Taek it easy won't you.

All the best

I think it's wonderful for all of you and Dylan will have a playmate for later on. My eldest daughter just turned 24 on Sunday. It's made me realise how fast they grow up. Your children will really thrive on your farm. I know my girls certainly have. And so have I. Stay in touch won't you.

Take care
Liz

Thanks, yes we're in a great part of the world to bring up children.

Ooooh - Congratulations!! Part of the reason we moved to rural France from not-rural SE England was to give our two boys a better location for their childhood. I don't think you can beat a rural upbringing.

Thanks Rosie, yes I agree - rural life is infinitely better than surburbia/city life for raising children. Dylan just loves having all the space to run around outdoors.
