Can anyone identify this bean?

I've been having a tidy up of my seed collection today and am a bit annoyed with myself as I did not write the name of this bean seed down..... doh! I think it came from Koanga Gardens originally (quite a few years ago) but their website doesn't help me identify it. It is a 'shellout' bean.
Does anyone out there know what it is?

could it be a barlotti bean once it's dried? I know mine have gone that sort of a colour now.

Hi Laura
Yeah I thought it might have been that one too but all the pics I can find show a pink/white coloured bean, so I don't it is.
I guess I could always take some along to Koanga (Kaiwaka Gardens now) to see if they can identify.

Looks like a cranberry bean with a tan. :-) Maybe Anasazi? But they'd have some whitish markings, too, I think. Alas. I do not know my beans.

I'm going to think about that all day now.

Me now thinks...

Bridget, I just took a photo of my dried barlotti beans - they've only been drying since this years harvest - and compared to what they were like when I picked them they have gone really dark and look very similar to yours here. Especially if yours have been drying for a few years!
I'll post the pics for you on my blog...

Guess you'll have to grow it and see, although that probably won't help - I don't think bean plant talk! (sorry - silly mood).

My guess would be a variety of borlotti beans too, but I'm not totally sure.

Looking at the photos of Laura's borlotti beans I think it's probably those. I will take some to Koanga to double check and post on their opinion.
