Re-cap on the pig butchering - with photos

I didn't post any pictures of the pigs/pork on my last post so here they are now.

A finished pig ready for the butcher

A nice pork shoulder roast!
We are just waiting on the bacon and hams now. Have quite a lot of roasts and chops in the freezer.

Looks like that's going to be nice tasty home grown pork. How lucky you are to be able to actually 'taste' it. I've just been commenting to Petal how pork doesn't have any taste anymore.....and we can forget about some decent crackling these days with all the new fangled lean pork. Maa.

Yes indeed Maa. Looking forward to some good tasty meals, and roasts complete with crackling. And I concur re. the lean pork.. the fat has all the flavour! 'Everything in moderation' eh.
