Otherwise you might miss one and end up with a marrow like these 2 whoppers!
The little one is about the size I normally harvest about 12 cm. The other two weighed in at 5.1kgs..and 15kgs!!
These 'babies' will be cooked up for the chooks I think. That's way too much marrow for us!

They're big alright! I find those are too'woody' and what a good idea to give them to the chooks.
It's so easy to miss one or two and they seem to grow overnight sometimes. Maa
Hee hee. This happens during growing season here too. There are always some giants hidden amongst the leaves!
haha! I've been doing this all summer - usually in the past I've let one go on purpose for the chooks, but this year what with the dry then the mad rain they are just growing and growing! The chooks adore them - they took a wee while to realise that yellow ones were the same as the green ones they'd had in the past!
15 kgs of yum for the chooks!
There's always a couple that you don't see and manage to hide from you until they are giant sized! Last year I just sliced my marrows very thinly and the chickens loved them!
Those certainly are big - I mean BIG! I can't wait to get the spring garden going and zucchini is always on the list of things to grow. Last fall we had a really hard freeze a month early and killed everything in the garden before it produced so I am looking forward to spring things. Your chickens are sure going to be happy eating that! Emily

Good thing you found them before the whole farm was taken over. The attack of the killer zucchini!
