Monarch butterflies are still hatching!
It's Winter here in NZ. As we live in the 'Winterless North', it's not very cold here during Winter, despite the recent frosts.
Anyway, I was still surprised to see that we still have Monarch butterflies hatching out in the garden in the middle of June! Here is one that has only just hatched, sitting on D's hand:

What a stunning marvel to behold...or hold for that matter.
WOW love that butterfly.
I have just done a 'stall' at local show on The Lizard exhibiting some moths we trapped overnight. They were sleepy and all the little kids had them on their hands. I am quite the moth buff now.
