Peaches from the orchard

We've starting picking the first peaches of the season from our orchard. They are just as sweet and juicy as you would imagine them to be. The name of the peach is a bit of a mystery however. The trees we planted were labeled 'Nectarine Early Red' (an earlier post I had a photo of the tree with this name as the caption). So unfortunately we are none the wiser. But it won't affect us eating them however!

There are/were :o) a few on the tree, approx 100. It's not loaded as is quite young (we only planted it approx 2 years ago).
Now the birds are starting to do a bit of damage so we had to put netting on it today to try to protect the fruit! They won't last long as they taste so good, and besides, G is out there eating them all the time!

Yummy! It's fun to see the warm, summer days you are having whilst we are very cold and snowy here!

Oh yum, they look fabulous. Next winter we might have to plant some peaces, I concentrated on pipfruit this year and it looks like I'll have to do some serious watering to help them survive.
