So with a large bowlful of peaches on hand, I was able to knock up this peach tart for dinner this evening. It was pretty good. We had it with a dollop of homemade vanilla ice cream.

Rustic peach tart
G had to pick all the peaches off the tree since the birds were going for them and really doing a bit of damage to the fruit. A bit of a shame since some of them would be better if they were riper. We will have to get some bird deterrents sorted for next season as even with the netting on the tree, the birds were able to get through to the fruit.
So with a large bowlful of peaches on hand, I was able to knock up this peach tart for dinner this evening. It was pretty good. We had it with a dollop of homemade vanilla ice cream.

Totally going to do this when we get our annual big box of blackboys from our friends!
I think Blackboy peaches would be divine in this recipe.
Hopefully we'll get some off our 2 trees in a few weeks (so long as we can beat the birds!).
Ooh yum! I must bookmark that recipe for when my peaches are ripe. I have a dwarf peach tree in a pot - it's very short so it's easy to put some stakes around it and spread netting over them. They're nowhere near being ripe though, no doubt they will time it for when I'm away over summer!
