Myrtle

My little myrtle tree is in flower:

Poor Myrtle, she's had a bit of a hard life. I started her off in a pot, then she was transferred into the ground, but not in a good location and didn't do very well. Consequently she's back in another pot in another location (more sheltered) and seems to be doing OK so far. Looking a bit woody though, so maybe I'll give her a prune when the flowers are over, although I'm loathed to chop too much in case she sulks! The flowers though as so delicate and pretty, like miniature pohutukawa flowers only white:

I read somewhere that in times gone by myrtle was commonly used in wedding bouquets. I can see why as it would be just gorgeous on mass. I hope I can nurture this little tree into one that produces a lot more flowers in the future.

I hope she survives for you. Her flowers are very pretty-they look tiny, are they? Maa.

I've heard about the myrtle herb plant, but had never seen the plant or come across it before. So was really delighted to see it here. Your right, you don't want her to sulk. Let her delicate and marvellous flowers glow.

What beautiful flowers. I can see why it would be used in a wedding bouquet. I hope your myrtle does well in its new pot and new location. Emily

Yes they are small, see new photo. Sorry I took the photo first thing this morning after finishing my night shift so wasn't quite awake!
