Fish

G had a very successful time with the fishing net yesterday and hauled in 15 mullet! His friend is smoking them today and will divvy the fish up between him and us. Yum, haven't had smoked fish for ages. Does anyone have any good fish recipes to share (for smoked fish or plain)?

If you've got a glut of fresh fish, you might try this Venetian recipe. It works for all types of fish although these days it's most commonly used for oily fish. I LOVE it, and am just about to make some more

Not that it's smoked or anything ;)

Hi Joanna
Thanks for that recipe, I have all those ingredients on hand apart from the lemon peel but might try it without. Can't wait for our lemon trees to start producing!
Also might try the smoked fish in a paella.

I have a few too Bridget. I'll find them and post a couple. You'll love that fish smoker! The flesh from the fish will be literally falling off the bone. I have one here too. Marvellous little inventions fish smokers. You have been very very industrious. Love the bread and I have Rua planted in tyres. Had to do something with the excess we had after stablising a slip we have here.
Catch up again soon.

Hi Liz
Thanks, would appreciate any recipes.
The fish pie was really nice, and of course can eat the fish as is, also with a white sauce is good.
